A Solid Start Child Care, a five-star child care facility located in Western Harnett County, has an opening for a Child Care Director.  
Position Summary:
The Director is a part of the ministry of Solid Foundations, Inc. and Solid Rock Ministries.  This person will work under the leadership and guidance of the CEO/Pastor.

The Director must have a deep understanding of, and a strong sense of stewardship for the basic core values related to child nurturance and development.  The Director must also have the skills, experience, and long-term vision required to build-on our existing foundation toward growth and greater impact.  He/She will exhibit a passion and a clear love for working with staff, children and families. 

 The Director must have a willingness to serve alongside staff and volunteers as a role model, upholding and sharing the values of hope, perseverance, individual value and worth, and compassion.  The Director will be responsible for the development of a quality program vision, innovative program development, and interactive program management led continually by a commitment to excellence.  As a member of the Solid Foundations/Solid Rock leadership team we look to the Director for creating better ways to serve more children within a financially sustainable model of excellent service delivery.

The responsibility of the Site-Director will be monitoring and coordination of the child care site in order to maintain a high level of child care quality.  He/She will also be responsible for acting as a substitute when needed. He/She must be committed to a team approach. Professionalism, dependability, flexibility and a calling to meet the needs of the surrounding community are important characteristics of this position. 

Education and Qualifications:
The Director will possess a minimum of a Bachelor in Applied Science Degree in Early Childhood/Child Development.
Have 5+ years of quality early childhood experiences. Prefer experience be in center based child care programs
Knowledgeable about NC Division of Child Development rules and regulations/Environment Rating Scales/Star-rated license/NAEYC standards.

Applicants MUST have:

AAS in Early Childhood, Child Development or related field, completed or in progress
First Aid and CPR
Childcare Credentials 1 & 2
12- 24 months of professional teaching experience with toddler and preschool aged children
Able to lift small children (0-35lbs)

Applicants will be preferred with:

Montessori Certification (AMS preferred)
Previous Montessori or Waldorf experience
Bilingual (Spanish, French, Italian, or German)
Yoga Teacher Certificate or Training
Music, Dance, or Art training or specialization
